Hidden Heroes



Kids! Have you completed your Detective's Clue Book yet?

Be sure to turn it in to your Sunday School teacher in APRIL 3
so you can receive a ticket to the Detective Party with Pastor Thompson.

HIDDEN HERO No. 1

 

        Clue #1: If you look for a secretary you may find some help.

        Clue #2: The 2nd part of his name sounds like something you use to keep cool.  

        Clue #3: He was the Right-Hand-Man to King Josiah. Check in 2 Kings 22.

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 2

 

        Clue #1:  You would have a hard time obeying Psalm 150 without the help from this week’s Hidden Hero.

        Clue #2:  You could say this week’s Hidden Hero was a Band aide.

        Clue #3:  He was the great-great-great-great-great grandson of Adam.

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 3

 

        Clue #1:  My nickname could have been “Captain Crunch”.

        Clue #2:  I made a “point” of showing my loyalty.

        Clue #3:  Hidden Hero #3 said “Some called him King David but I called him Uncle David”.

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 4

 

        Clue #1:  She was not afraid to speak the truth, even when it wasn’t good news. 

        Clue #2:  Her family included the keeper of the costumes in the temple at Jerusalem.

        Clue #3:  She is mentioned with one of the other Hidden Heroes that we’ve uncovered already.

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 5

 

        Clue # 1:  When my nurse tripped, I took the fall.

        Clue #2: I was invited to eat at the king’s table like one of his sons.

        Clue #3:  My father’s closest friend was ‘a man after God’s own heart’.

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 6

 

        Clue #1: Today, the capital of my homeland is Addis Ababa.

        Clue #2:  Enemies would have liked God’s Prophet hung with this, but instead, I used it to save his neck!

        Clue #3: Because of my obedience to the Lord, I was spared when Jerusalem was attacked.

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 7

 

        Clue #1:  I may have never met the king had God not punished him for counting his fighting men.

        Clue #2:  I was paid 50 shekels for what I was willing to give the king for free. 

        Clue #3:  What was once my “barn” floor became an altar for the people of Israel.  Even the Lamb of God was eventually sacrificed there.

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 8

 

        Clue #1:  My Great-Grandfather was a spy for Israel.

        Clue #2:  One of my creative gifts from God “ROCKED” the Tabernacle!

§         (There’s more than one way to spell my name.  Don’t worry! I’ll answer to both!)

        Clue #3:  Both Noah and I built one of these.

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 9

 

        Clue #1:  My name means “happy conqueror”

        Clue #2:  My mother taught me this, and then I taught my son, as Deuteronomy 6:5-7 instructs us.  

        Clue #3:   My name was originally pronounced “you-knee-key”

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 10

 

        Clue # 1:  I learned firsthand how forceful Roman Soldiers can be!

        Clue #2:  The lamb I brought for a sacrifice was not needed; a “Lamb” had already been provided. 

        Clue #3:  There are at least 9 men with my name mentioned in the New Testament, but I’m the only one from my town.

 

 

HIDDEN HERO No. 11: The Ultimate Hidden Hero

        Clue # 1:  The Prophet Isaiah told of my coming in the Old Testament.

        Clue #2: There were at least 5 people who were raised from the dead in the New Testament.  I was one of them.    

        Clue #3:  John the Baptist was my cousin.

 

 

 

 

 

HIDDEN HERO DETECTIVE PARTY FAQ

 

HIDDEN HERO BOOK CHECK-IN:

Date:  Sunday, April 3

Time:  Sunday Morning Bible Study

Details:  Each Sunday School leader will have a Hidden Heroes Check-in Logs by grade/class and Detective Book Teacher’s Key with answers.  The logs will be based on current Attendance sheets, but will also include a space for each teacher to mark

1.       That the child has completed their Detective's books, and

2.       Whether they definitely plan to bring a friend to the party.

a.       There will also be blank lines for teachers to write in the names of any children that have been playing along, but don’t usually attend Sunday School.

We will ask teachers to do the following:

-          Check each book for ALL 11 hero names, and ALL 33 Clues,

-          Sign each book on the Inspector Certification page,

-          Check the appropriate places on the Check-in Logs, and

-          Turn in the logs for registration sheets

If leaders are asked, it is ok for children to share the clues and heroes with each other in order to complete their books.

 

HIDDEN HERO DETECTIVES PARTY:

Date:  Sunday, April 17

Time:  Immediately following Worship Service (Lunch 12pm; Museum 1pm)

Location:  Museum of Discovery and Science

Details:  Each child who has their detectives book certified by their small group leader will be eligible to attend a Pizza party and Fun Day at the Museum of Discovery and Science.  Each child can bring along one friend, and the two children must be accompanied by one parent or guardian. 

Costs:  Admission to the museum, plus lunch for one parent/guardian and two children will be complimentary. Each parent will be responsible for paying for parking at the museum, which ranges from $3-$7 per car.  As a result, we will encourage parents to carpool, if they prefer.

 

Special Circumstances:

  1. Families with one available parent AND one or more children that are *not* participating in Hidden Heroes, (i.e., Single parents or families with a working/traveling parent on April 17) will be given the opportunity to purchase additional admission and lunch tickets for their other children.
  2. In the event that neither parent is available to attend the event, they may elect to send their child and child guest with an adult of their choosing.  We will also have a small group of volunteers that can also serve as a “chaperone for the day” in the event the family cannot identify a chaperone. (Please call 954-831-1112 to arrange for this)

 

Parent Q&A:

Q:  I have 2 (or more) children that are doing Hidden Heroes.  How does this work?

A:  Every child that has their completed book certified by their Sunday school teacher can bring one friend.  In the event of siblings, however, we are only able to offer complimentary lunch and admission to one parent.

 

Q:  My child is missing some clues/heroes.  What do we do?

A:  All Clues are posted to the church website at www.FBCNet.com . Please note that children are allowed to share clues/heroes with each other.

 

Q:  Does my child need the original paper clue that you pass out at church to qualify as having “the clue”?

A:  No; any child can hand-write in the clue they are missing.
